NYTimes’ columnist Bob Herbert asks today:
“How many people have to die or face ruin, and how much of nature has to be despoiled before we rein in the cowboys of these runaway corporations?”
That’s NOT a rhetorical question, by the way.

I don’t think this is “news” or even an observation. I think the real question to ask is why can’t the U.S. police big businesses when most other industrial nations manage? Why is our culture so rampantly corrupt?
Haven’t people been asking the same thing (“how many people have to die”) regarding gun control?
Up until they get wise to the fact that special interests have been feedinging them PR instead of news.
Can’t disagree. Maybe we could use guns to shoot BP execs?
