Krugman’s take on “improving” jobs situation in today’s NYTimes:
“Congress should have enacted a second round of stimulus months ago, when it became clear that the slump was going to be deeper and longer than originally expected. But nothing was done — and the illusory good numbers we’re about to see will probably head off any further possibility of action.”

I would sleep better at night if I knew the Obama admin were listening to Krugman. His intelligence is light years ahead of the “usual gang of idiots” that are working on the economy–the same idiots who got us into this mess through denial and negligence. The White House categorically dismisses everything Krugman says even though he’s been right more times than I want to think about, and the bozos it employs have been wrong wrong wrong about everything. Very scary. We just don’t learn from our mistakes, even in this uber-information age.
Afraid you’re right…it’s willful ignorance.
