Great column,Bill,once again — just read it in Huff Post this a.m.
Another aspect of this last sadness, likewise not being mentioned, gives lie to the NRA motto, “More Guns, Less Crime.” How can one guy with two pistols shoot so many people so quickly? Apparently (findings haven’t been released yet) when the crazy doc started shooting, everybody starting shooting back. It may turn out that a good number of the wounded, and perhaps killed, were victims of “friendly fire,” (an oxymoron if there ever was one.)
More guns = less crime. Right. Take Baghdad, for instance, as a model…
We changed the constitution to allow blacks to be human, women to vote, children to be children– we can do it again, to let the steam out of this crazy gun club currently running (so self- righteously) amok across the country.
