President Obama’s speech this week was lacking one critical element — passion — as Howard Fineman (on MSNBC) and others noted.
The Times’ Paul Krugman started his column thusly:
“The talking heads on cable TV panned President Obama’s Wednesday press conference. You see, he didn’t offer a lot of folksy anecdotes.”
No, and no one expected a call-and-respnse, hell-and-damnation church-type speech.
But a little passion about all this would have been nice — preferably, going after the GOP and Dem whores who are feasting at the HMO trough these days.
It’s time for some of that much-vaunted Chicago politics!
