Pulitzer-winning Byron Pitts makes a convincing argument in this recent Miami Herald column for looking ahead — rather than back at the Bush administration years:
” If incompetence were a crime, you might have a case. Heck, if arrogance were a felony, you could put them on Death Row.”
This is an argument I’ve made for years — that the main sin of Dubya’s reign was the sheer incompetence of him and his appointees — and, especially, him.
The guy should have risen as far as Commissioner of Baseball…period.
Which brings up Molly Ivins’ classic line about George W:
“Born on third, thinks he hit a triple.”
