The cops SAID it was trespassing, but you have to wonder…
Now, don’t get me wrong…Democratic Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey (a one-time welfare mom, from Petaluma, Ca.) is no weasel. In fact, she was my Congressperson for years and granted me interviews. I agree with most of her views. She means well.
But when I read a story about the progressive’s first-ever arrest this week (Rep. Woolsey’s been part of many demonstrations, but never busted) after making a speech about deteriorating conditions in Darfur at the Sudanese embassy in D.C., I had to wonder:
Would Cong. Woolsey have been arrested if she hadn’t made that speech?
Let me explain:
Woolsey, bless her Obama-supporting heart, may be the worst speaker in Congress.
Watching her on C-SPAN struggling to read a speech on the House floor (often trying to locate which page she’s on) is a painful thing indeed.
I tried watching a few times when Woolsey was speechifying her opposition to the Iraq war; it was bad.
Hey, we all have different talents, right?
Cong. Woolsey and Dubya have one thing in common — giving-a-speech defects.
